Paiton Energy Donates Green Transportation to TMR

Jakarta, March 6, 2024 – PT Paiton Energy (PE) donates environmentally friendly transportation to Ragunan Wildlife Park in the form of a buggy car (golf car) for use by visitors and managers. The donation of the golf car is also a means to educate the public on the use of renewable energy sources to reduce carbon emissions.

PE donated two (2) units of electric golf car to Taman Margasatwa Ragunan (TMR), complementing the six (6) units previously donated by PE.

The donation to TMR was made on Wednesday (3/6) as part of a series of events to celebrate World Consumer Rights Day, which is celebrated every year on March 15.

The event was attended by the Head of Jakarta Parks and Urban Forest Agency, Bayu Meghantara, the Head of TMR Management Unit, Endah Rumiyati, and the Chief Financial Officer of PT Paiton Energy, Bayu Widyanto.

For PT Paiton Energy, which this year turns 30 years of presence in Indonesia, since the beginning of its operations has always practiced environmentally friendly business with various initiative programs to preserve the environment, including efforts to reduce and absorb carbon emissions. These activities are always in cooperation with various parties, and this time in cooperation with TMR.

The donation of an electric golf car to TMR is part of PE's Corporate Social Responsibility under the Blue Sky program. This donation aims to preserve the environment, especially to make TMR free from motor vehicle pollution by providing environmentally friendly vehicles.

Chief Financial Officer of PT Paiton Energy Bayu Widyanto, said the Company donated the electric golf car to be used as a means of education and campaign to the public about the use of New Renewable Energy, and the use of electric vehicles as a mode of transportation.

"The Blue Sky program is a concrete manifestation of the company's commitment to support the implementation of the greenhouse gas emission reduction program in the capital city, in accordance with the DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation No. 90 of 2021 on Climate Resilient Regional Low Carbon Development Plan," said Bayu Widyanto.

Head of Jakarta Parks and Urban Forest Agency Bayu Meghantara, said that he appreciated the cooperation between the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and PE in developing environmentally friendly energy.

"We welcome this initiative from PE. The donation of electric golf car will be very helpful in maintaining the cleanliness and sustainability of Ragunan Wildlife Park," said Bayu Meghantara.

Head of TMR Management Unit Endah Rumiyati, said the donation will help improve the quality of service for TMR visitors. TMR is grateful for PE's contribution to preserving the environment.

"We hope that with this electric golf car, TMR visitors will be more aware of the importance of protecting the environment and using natural resources wisely," said Endah Rumiyati.

The golf car donation is expected to provide tangible benefits to the environment and TMR visitors, as well as setting a positive example in climate change mitigation efforts. PE is committed to continuing to contribute to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future.

Paiton Energy will continue to enhance its positive environmental impact through sustainable business practices and continuous environmental performance improvement initiatives. Paiton Energy synergizes its climate change management activities through the Paiton bErsiNERGY Program.

Paiton Energy has implemented CSR programs that are monitored by the Community Development Committee. The programs are categorized into three focuses, namely supporting corporate sustainability (generation), socio-economic sustainability, and energy and environmental sustainability.

The PE’s CSR program in the area of energy and environmental sustainability is the Blue Sky Program. Through this program, in 2018 the company provided donations to TMR in the form of solar power stations, electric charging stations and electric motors.
